Marty any tips on traveling from Maryland to Portland in June? It’s still very questionable whether I’ll be able to make it out to IWS live, but I’m investigating travel just in case. Seems like most stuff I’m seeing is it takes like 3 days by train and it costs ~$400 round trip. Any secrets or is that about what you found?

The First Day…

We landed in Germany, took a short train to the Main Train Station, and took an ICE Train to Paris, France. It took several hours, and we all fell asleep while on the train. It was a bullet train so we were going FAST. lol. Several hundred miles an hour.

If we had gone much faster without being hooked on the tracks, we would have been raising off the tracks according to the train conductor person.

We arrived in Paris and took the Metro to out hotel, Hotel de Turenne.

And we had a hard time making it up the stairs, after our exhuastion.

But we checked in, left out bags, and headed to the Eiffel Tower. We looked up at it in wonder, and watched it as it got dark. The lights came on.

And it was beautiful. But even better, we discovered at 9pm that it lights up with white lights for 10 minutes every hour on the hour between the hours of 9pm and 1am.

We then went to eat at a resturant, I ate steak and frites (french fries). I was falling asleep at the table, and we went in circles trying to find our hotel. But we made it and fell quickly asleep.
